These are the baby blankets I made over the past three weeks - this one, for my new nephew, was made using the Rambling Rows afghan pattern ( by Cottage Creations), and instead of using different colours as suggested, I used a self-striping Teflon-coated yarn - "Klassik" by Schoeller-Stahl, 4.5mm needles.
Lots of fun to make, and the finished blanket looks quilted, sort of log-cabiney - the yarn is also very, very soft, which shouldn't have surprised me, but it did.
This blanket and hat (the hat looks much better in real life on a real head) were made from Sirdar Snowflake Chunky Magic - 3 balls, garter stitch, 6mm needles, so soft it almost melts in your hands...
The hat came from an internet pattern for a tri-corner jester hat, and is in actuality very cute -
just the thing for a for a very cute little girl...
donchya just love babies???
